Product label design system

Challenge
Hospitality Services at McMaster University required cohesive yet flexible label systems for multiple internal food brands. The labels needed to clearly communicate dietary and allergen information while strengthening brand recognition across campus, all within high volume production and food safety requirements.
Approach
I developed scalable label templates aligned with the broader Hospitality Services identity, ensuring clarity, consistency, and production efficiency. Each system incorporated structured typography, adaptable grids, and clear hierarchy for ingredients, pricing, barcodes, and dietary indicators, while remaining flexible across various packaging formats.
Outcome
The final systems delivered consistent, professional labeling that improved dietary transparency and strengthened internal brand visibility across campus. The identity and retail options were a success, with items selling well and the streamlined print systems supporting efficient, ongoing use throughout dining locations.
